 I don't get up that way often enough to make it worthwhile. But it is nice to see student deals. :D

But this is a perfect opportunity/excuse TO get up there often enough to make it worthwhile. Especially Jay on a pow day/week.

now the ultimate pass for school would have been bolton for nights and stowe/bush. i would have loved that. i would go 5 or so times to bolton for night riding.

For sure..all three mountains are nice but most college kids want to ski Stowe..it's where the best skiing in the east is..in my humble opinion..

fo shizzle..some kids had a preference for the Bush because that's where they grew up skiing but the difference in natural snowfall between Sugarbush and Stowe is remarkable..

I'm not sold on that. A bit more snow, but not a massive difference.

I skied Stowe because of the slack country possibilities. If I were only into on trail stuff, I think Bush is the better choice. These days Sugarbush would actually be the better choice for me. Back then I was 90% of trail, 10% on. These days it's the opposite. I simply don't get out enough nor do I feel in good enough shape to go charging down the likes of Hourglass and Tusk like I used to.

probably right

more giving in to other life responsibilities. I can still boogie down the hill, but I won't kid myself. The level of my 25 year old self skiing 80+ days a year is far better than my will be 33 year old self this winter who only makes it out 20ish days.

We'll see though. For the first time since High School, I'm going get into a pre-season work out plan starting on Monday. That'll give me nearly three months to get in shape and who knows, I might surprise myself next winter. hope so....

I feel like Stowe holds snow better..and I'm a way better skier than when I was in college since most of my pre-college skiing was here in PA where it's mostly groomers..but I dislike hiking for turns..Freshman year on Halloween me and Jerm the Beetnik..his little brother is a Meathead..hiked up Nosedive and skied down National in a foot of wet snow..my first run of college...steezy

I'd love me some Goat right about now..or even better Lookout...mmmm...from the top..

Bah. Another season of over crowding at Jay due to the Burlington folks snapping up the three mountain deal rather than the uber expensive Stowe pass. :( Can't really blame them, I would do the same thing if I was a UVM kid.

The Stowe college pass is $399 until 10/20 or so..

It's good 7 days a week..If I was still in college as a 8th year Senior..I'd get that one..

I have considered getting this pass in the past, but since I'm a bit too far a way from them I don't get that pass. My current home run for season's passes is the NH 4-H pass from Cannon Mountain, which is an even better deal then the Triple Major: Unlimited Skiing/Riding at Cannon, Waterville, Bretton Woods and Cranmore (no restrictions, no blackouts) for $279. Before 5/31/08 it was $229. Going to school at Lyndon State, makes this pass a lot more bankable for me as Cannon and Bretton Woods (albeit flat) are within an hour and Cranmore/Waterville are within 2 hours from school. I also usually get the Higher Education pass from Peak Resorts, as well as the Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Loon pass since Loon is about an hour and the River is 2 hours respectively from school. I think that's $379, but I'm not sure.

Jay is the same distance as Cannon from LSC and MRG is only an extra half hour (same distance from LSC as Waterville and Cranmore). I can see enjoying certain mountains more or enjoying a greater variety of mountains, but it is hard to count distance out with Jay being the second closest mountain to LSC right behind Burke. Banking on winter/spring break not being at LSC perhaps, but I take my Jay pass and two hour drive over a Cannon pass 40 minutes up the road any day. And I love Cannon.

Not that I would advocate for even more crowding at Jay. :D

Sugarbush is doing the same pass as always...except they are now offering a cheaper College Pass for Mt Ellen only....that one is like $200. The regular pass is $319.
