Resort or Ski Area: Breckenridge
Conditions: packed pow, sunny, bumps
Trip Report: Cold day today. -4 when we got in the car to head over to Breck. After getting over the enormity of the Breckenridge village we found ourselves at the Peak 9 base lodge. Booted up and hit the slopes with Jake and Megan.
I don't know if I've ever skied packed powder like this before. Breck reported 20 inches in past week and apparently they pretty good at grooming. Conditions on peak 9 were amazing. Not the toughest trails by far but i can't tell you how much fun we had skiing the groomers today. We hit several of the blues off the Peak 9 quad and just before lunch decided to head over to Peak 8 then 7. Unfortunately a snag in Megan's lift ticket forced us back to the base lodge to get things sorted out.
after lunch the kids took a break and hung out in the lodge with Amy. I took advantage of 45 minutes to myself to hit Peak 10. found some fun bumps there.
Back to the lodge and grabbed the kids for another few runs. Jake decided to go off on his own to try the terrain park. Meg and I hit some cruisers and then found a "kids adventure zone" trail through the woods to end the day.
We all gave NASTAR a try today. I picked up a Silver and Jake picked up a Bronze. Megan took two runs, knocking several seconds off on her second try but was *VERY* upset to not get a medal.
