Resort or Ski Area:Bretton Woods

Conditions:1-2" Fresh powder

Trip Report:

Surprised for the second time this year to arrive at this resort to find 1-2" of powder that wasn't in the forecast. The day before they received 2-3" which I was hoping was still waiting for me. Runs on the trails were 1-2" of fresh and the runs off trails sometimes yielded 5" in little pockets. Obviously the fresh snow skied off in a couple hours but the groom underneath held all day long. Crowds were reasonable for a holiday weekend. I didn't time the lines but I'm pretty sure I never waited longer than 10 minutes during the 10am-11am rush.

Those unexpected powder shots are the norm at BW and are one my favorite things about the place. Not so much this season of course.
