Lawson's is a newcomer and quickly has established itself among the best. I've had their IPA on tap at MRG and it's out of this world. Only available at five places on draught and one store (in Warren VT) in bottles, but well worth seeking out. Not that I need another excuse to visit the Mad River Valley ...

One of my friends is friends with Sean Lawson. He has a bunch of the bottles as decorations around his condo at Sugarbush. I'm anxious to try the Maple Nipple. I'm trying to get whatever I can, but I haven't seen my friend in a bit. I like that you can only get it at 6 different places. That truly makes it a microbrew.

I'm a big fan of Switchback. I don't think they bottle it yet and it's pretty much only available in VT, but Flatbreads - the pizza joint - in North Conway has it on tap. Luckily we all like their pizza, I just don't tell the wife the *real* reason I like going is for the Switchback. :)

Just got back from BW. Long Trail IPA was the beer I dug so much last time I was there. Never was a fan of their regular ale but the IPA is much better. Bumped into some friends there and was introduced to new ones. Skied trees with them and found plenty of spots with 2 FEET OF UNTOUCHED POWDER 2 days after the storm! The GF and I did some apres ski with them. Great day all around.

I'm a big fan of Switchback. Good stuff. They had it in the bar at Mt Sunapee last year. Hope they still do this year!

Find the Switchback a bit bland for my liking. Excited to seek out the Lawsons.

Sean's dad is best friends with my gf's grandad. Never met his son, but the old man sure does know how to party. We had some last spring at the Bush, i believe it was the Fist Full O Hop IPA, and I recall it being really good.

Agree re: Switchback. I have been disappointed with the VT breweries over the last few years...after 3 years in the midwest for school I was excited to get back to VT for the skiing and the beer. The skiing has more than lived up to my expectations but the beer...Switchback, Otter Creak, Rock Art, Long Trail, Magic Hat, Trout River...have all disappointed. My favorite northeast breweries seem to all be from other states (Ithaca and Southern Tier from NY, Allagash and Shipyard from ME, BBC and Cisco from MA, and Victory and Troegs from PA).
