Started hiking for turns at 6:30 am. Skinned up groomed trails (groomed the night before) Lower Warren's over to Bear Den then Upper Willoughby. Cut over to Ledges and headed down. I'm really kicking myself for using my skinny touring skis that have a butt load of skin glue stuck to the bottom. Due to the very sticky ski bases, I couldn't get enough speed to bust through the drifts without straightlining :???:. The wind on this side of the mtn had drifted the trail edges pretty deep. 4 ft drifts in places.
Ledges (sorry for the poor pic quality, It was snowing so hard, the camera was auto-focusing on snowflakes when taking stills, so I took almost all video instead):
At the bottom of Ledges we booted back up and cut over to Fox's Folly. The drifts in here weren't as variable, just consistantly deep. Patrollers were riding up the lift while we skied down
The head of ski patrol (John) caught up to us at the bottom of Fox's floating down on his board (he is 6'5"ish):
We cut over the McCarg's and into Little Chief for some awsome lower angle glades (no drifts in here):
Hung around for the lifts to open and grabbed 4 more runs. The glades on the East side of the mountain were nuts:
Those were only from two of teh four runs. I finally had to put the camera away.
