Started hiking at the mid-lodge at 5:45 am with about 7-8 inches of powder. 55 minute to the top straight up the Poma line along recently groomed Warren's Way.
We took the same route as last year (day after Valentine's blizzard) that maximizes vertical and mixes terrain to a roughly a 3:1 trees to trails ratio.
The summit had around 9-10". Mostly a fairly light powder. On the way down, staying light on the feet kept me floating in the powder, that is until making any hard turns that resulted in cutting down to the icy base. But it was still very enjoyable. Not really deep face shots (mostly neck shots) but then again I'm 6'4" so face shot are sometimes hard to come by .
I ended up staying the entire day. There were quite a few people there for first chair. But the mountain cleared out at noon and my small group had the remaining powder to ourselves. We actual picked up another inch or so during the afternoon.
