Got to Burke at Noon on Sunday. I was rocking some Patriots jersey steez in an attempt to appear gapperish. However, all I succeeded in doing was looking like a NewSchoolerz park rat
I got a lot of disapproving looks. Of course I was skiing with a buddy who was rocking a seriously fab mullet (all real) and the combo of the two of us had to be a pretty interesting sight.
There was actually a bit of traffic going up the mtn road as all of the locals were heading up to take advantage of the gorgeous day $18 Ski and Ride NEK Style Sunday afternoon ticket. Great bright sun all afternoon. East Bowl was excellent and the runout was fast (in the shade). The woods were a bit scratchy but I didn't really sample them much since the trails were in such good shape. Lots of corn everywhere. the bumps on Lower Dougs drop were excellent. However, Wilderness had been groomed flat since the last thaw/freeze-up and good bumps have yet to reform :???:
I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
Noon-time view from Mid-Burke Parking. Ungroomed Northwest facing trails were still shiny. They would soften up later in the afternoon.
Fox's Folly could have been open at 2:00 once the sun got on it but it never openned
Dippers and Warrens were (Groomed) Runs of the Day. Great corn and great views.
