Date(s) Skied: Saturday 3/24/12
Resort or Ski Area: Burke, VT
Conditions: Spring, Cloudy, 50s
Trip Report:
Today turned out to be closing day as they posted a sign by the lift entrance at about 2:30 that they won't be open tomorrow or next weekend. A somewhat decent crowd considering the weather, although most were hanging out at the Bear Den rather than skiing.
Dipper: Developed a few more crappy spots with the added traffic. The section over the road at the top from the lift to where it widens is just about shot, so that wouldn't have made it through the rain tonight. The moderate pitches had wonderful soft snow, but the steeper pitches were pretty slick and had multiple bare spots.
Willoughby/Lower Warrens: Can't believe Willoughby was still open, as you had to ski on 3 stretches of grass just to get to it. Pretty skied off and slick most of the way, with plenty of sections requiring you to ski a 2-ski wide ribbon to get to the next section of snow. Same for lower Warrens, although it had a bit more snow.
I may be at Jay tomorrow, depends on the rain situation. If not I'll get up there Wednesday and/or Friday.
