Date: January 8, 2008
Resort: Burke Mountain
Conditions: WS/SC
Weather: Partly cloudy, highs in the 40's and low 50's at the summit.
2007-2008 Trip Report #: 26
Trip Report: Back up again for some morning turns. It was a bit too warm and we have lost some snow
Took about 12 runs...five up top and seven down below. On the top I rotated between Dippers and Willoughby/Lower Bear Den because they were groomed. Anything groomed was soft and slowly softening some more. Anything ungroomed took a while to soften. I did do Powderhorn on one run....and it was nice, but you couldn't ski it too fast. Still almost edge to edge. The snow is holding well there. We've lost Ledges, Doug's, and Fox's. Other runs need more snow now.
Willoughby:
Lower Fox's (better than it looks):
I spent a considerable amount of time riding the HSQ at the bottom. It was almost edge to edge...but the snow was slow in places. Really it was the best way to get in the most runs in a short amount of time.
Dashney Mile Terrain Park:
It was the warmest at the top:
And as always, I love that view from the chair!
Another good morning of turns. By 11am it was softening up a lot...but I had to go regrettably.
