Resort or Ski Area: Butternut
Conditions: Sunny, 30s then clouding over
Trip Report: Hadn't been to the Nut in 25+ years. $40 tix and a short drive made it our place to ski today. Parking lot seemed crowded but the ticket agent said they were not busy. plenty of room in the lower lodge (smelled like used gym socks) to boot up as well as eat lunch later.
Line for the Top Flight Quad was pretty busy most of the day. 5 - 10 minute waits, closer to 10 mostly. well run lift lines, i like that. Overbook Triple lift was practically ski on, so we did a bunch of runs there. downspout was bumped up and i verified that wide skis and bumps don't go together unless you are really really good (i'm not). only took 1 clumsy run through the bumps.
when we arrived it was sunny and warming but by the end of the day it had clouded over and flurries had set in. Snow conditions were very good. soft mostly, a few scrappy spots.
downspout bumps:
Nice place, i'll be back again for sure.
