Tons of snow at Butternut, some decent sugary/ice creamy frozen granular on the surface.

Date(s) Skied: Feb. 14

Resort or Ski Area: Butternut

Conditions: Frozen granular

Trip Report: Centers of all trails were groomed over to leave very carve-able and soft frozen granular. Seems like they have a huge base. Had a really great Valentine's Day with Mrs. Downhill, who really enjoyed the conditions because it was easy for her to navigate. Only things we didn't hit were the diamonds. Freewheeler, as usual, was the best run there.

Massive bump field on Whip was allowed to completely ice-over and there's a hard crust all over everything. Not a soul braved that.

There was also hard crust on the edges of all trails.
