Date(s) Skied: Dec 12, 2009

Resort or Ski Area: Camelback Ski Resort

Conditions: Better then expected. Some death cookies, but mostly hard packed manmade, later in the morning, some soft carving snow.

Trip Report: I got to Camelback around 8:30, colder then expected..22*F. Booted up in the lot and walked up to get my ticket. Saw Toast and GSS in line. Lots of snowmaking in the base area. Off to an empty lift to kick off the season. First run was down Marjie's. Great snow, some more death cookies for the 1st 50 yards or so. Felt so good to back out there. The runout at the end of Marjie's was in really fine shape. The cruiser (I don't remember the trail name was probably the run of the day. Amazing coverage overall, you'll see in the pics.

Did 13 runs and bailed out around 11:20. Legs were a little sore, but not too bad. Stopped at Blue to sign the waiver for my season pass and took some pics of the prep work going on there. I was planning on working on my web project for my class tomorrow, but that's going to have to wait if I have an opportunity to ski Blue. Oh I love cramming! :spread:

yes Sir. I thouht the conditions of the trails where just as good as what I found at hunter on Thursday. I skied Margies with son#2 for most of the day. Except for a few well scraped areas it was pretty darn good.

Going again tomorrow. Whats a blue refugee gonna do?

PS Nice pics Root

Thumbs up to the snowmakers. Was a late start for me on Saturday with the pass line (should have gotten mine the previous weekend but didn't - I don't know why). Rocket came on line Sunday. The skiing Sunday was better as well before the weather moved in. Looks like Tut, Birches and lower Cleo (maybe bumps) will be next on line. Unfortunately didn't run across any of the Blue crew. If you guys make it up later (the pass deal at the end of the season) will really try and meet up at least for a safety meeting. Like Root said legs are angry at me today.

Thanks warp. That was a pretty good shot. That's the 1st picture of me where I really noticed that I have dropped some serious weight.

I'm sure I'll be back there at some point. The season pass pick up line was about 30 people deep at 8:30 AM. I was out of there by 11:30. I didn't stop in the bar, because I wanted to get my nephew's season rentals at The Loft. Pretty nice package...new Solomon boots and Volkl Unlimited 7.4 skis for $170.

Yea it was hectic but why I didn't pick it up before was my own fault.

I like the Loft as a shop. They have a very good selection. I'm not sure if their prices are that great but they have been very helpful to us.

I'll be down at Blue sometime in January for a race. I'll let you know. I'd also like to hit Blue midweek sometime when no ones there. Hey at least the seasons here
