Resort or Ski Area: Camelback Mountain Resort

Conditions: Man made Packed Powder

Trip Report: Beautiful Saturday at Camelback. The snowmakers have been just pounding the mountain the past two weeks. Cliffhanger, King Tut and Lower Marc Antoney were the addtions today. Pharoh/Bactrain, Dromedary, Asp and Hump are the last trails needed to be layed in and they were under the guns all day. They will be 100% by the end of the week. Crowds were pretty light but the place wasn't empty. A very good start for the mountain. Now we need the bumps up.

ladies day (bogo)

on the camelback website, they are offering a buy 1, get 1 lift ticket free for ladies. do you know how strict they enforce this? what if it is a lady purchasing the lift ticket, but with a male receiving the extra lift ticket. think that will work?

They've been advertising this up at the mountain but I don't know how strict they would be. A 2 for 1 on a Wednesday morning would be a good deal. The whole mountain is open and you would have the place to yourselves.

Sounds to me as if your in the North Jersey area. Welcome to the boards. Basically been to them all X2. I use the Pocono's for my local fix. Basically 3 areas Blue, Camelback and Elk. Camelback is home due to its location, Blue is a great change of pace (and good moguls), and Elk is a nice escape. I should also add that the wife's family has a place in Arrowhead Lake so we don't always round trip outta NNJ. The Catskills are a 2-3 hour run from home. My favorites up there in order are Plattekill, Hunter, Belleayre then Windham. Hunter is the best mountain (and drive for me) Plattekill is the funnest. I don't mean to sound like a snob but I really don't hit the others(MC, Shawnee Hidden etc) any more. I'm not saying anything bad about them but I guess I should say they are not on my radar.

Camelback Crowds this week

What will the crowds be like at Camelback this Wednesday? I would like to take my 11-year-old skiing for the 2nd time but am a "little" concerned about crowds. I do not want to be waiting in line for 15-20 minutes at the lifts if I can avoid it. Thanks for any input.

I don't think I've ever seen lines that long at Camelback, too many lifts. Also, uhh, even though kids are off from school, it's still a non-holiday Wednesday. I am sure you will be fine.
