We left home in a thick fog and arrived at Camelback at 4:00pm to sunshine and a temperature of 51F.

We started out taking runs on the Sullivan Express hsq and took in 10 runs between 4 and 6:30pm. The snow was heavy spring cornlike snow and Rocket had large soft bumps.

The skiing was good with no wind, but fog rolled in at about 5:30pm making visibility poor from halfway up the mountain and above.

This was my sons first time night skiing and he had alot of fun this extraordinarily warm night. The lift tickets cost $28 for me and $22 for my son.

We are looking to move off of Long Island because it is getting too expensive, so we are looking for a house up here this weekend as well as a place to relocate my business.

Long Island has been my home all my life, but the taxes are killing me slowly

You are moving from the Island   I don't blame you taxes are very high it is getting out of hand. I would think about moving as well but my business would have to start from the ground up all over again..can't do that again.

Our property tax went from $7,500 in 2000 to $12,500 for 2006. We just cannot afford it anymore. I am not happy to move, but we have liitle choice in the matter.

My sister left Hicksville in 2003 and moved to Milford P.A and she is happy so far.

Yes that is true, we bought our house for $326,000 and can easily sell it for $650,000 - $700,000 on todays market.

Our nieghbor just sold his similar model house for $699,800.

We can buy a palace up here for $250,000 with no mortgage to worry about, and with the Catskills and local skiing much closer to home. I only hope I can be happy living here.

I know the feeling guys. While I can afford to stay on LI, why would I? I'm retired for the past four years, and want to ski. I bought my house for $27K in 1973 and will put it on the market for nearly $600K. It has definitely been a good investment and I am going to "take the money and run for the hills of Utah."

We wanted to ski at Blue Mountain this evening, but the cold front just came through here in Palmerton, P.A like a freight train.

We are getting 50+ mph winds with snow comming down sideways. I doubt that they are open for night skiing tonight.

My son and I skied Camelback last night as well. We were skiing off of the Sullivan HSQ around the same time. We moved over to the Raceway Triple later when the fog rolled in to avoid the heavier mist at the top.
I wear glasses so when skiing from the top I was flipping up my goggles after they got misted then skiing the rest of the way down until my glasses got misted. The lights on the slopes were barely penetrating the fog.
We took a break around 7:30 and had Gatorades out on the deck. Last year it was -4F the time we skied Camelback at night.
Check with your sister to see if her township (or one close by) sells discounts lift tickets. I skied for $23.00 last night. My son skied for the $22.00 student rate. Blue Mt. night skiing discount tickets are $22.00. They also offer a variety of discount tickets for Midweek and Weekend Days for most of the Pocono areas and Elk.
Here's listing of the prices from my town:
