I skied at Cannon today. I think today was the first time I was ever actually warm at Cannon in January -- the base area easily warmed up into the low 40s. Conditions were very spring-like.

Zoomer trail is all bumped up, with big-snow making whales on skier's left of the main trail. Zoomer Lift Line had really nice bump lines; skier's right of the main Zoomer trail had some nice bumps as well, although the troughs there were getting worn down to dirt in places.

Paulies and Upper / Middle Hardscrabble had nice bumps as well, but again -- bump troughs are showing dirt in quite a few places.

Skier's left of Avalanche had some widely spaced mini-bumps forming. The very top of Avalanche (off of Paulie's Folly) had some really nice bumps as well.

Skier's right of Paulie's Folly and Bypass had some irregular bump lines as well.

There were lift-lines, but they were the Cannon style lines -- I don't think I ever waited more then 30 seconds. The top 25% of the mountain (basically most of the summit chair) was socked in by the clouds -- visibility was, for all intents and purposes, zero. Made for some fun skiing up there! The cloud cover burned off around 3:30 or so. Just in time to go home!

I didn't head over to Mittersill at all.

There were occassional "scraped down" sections, but I couldn't really call anything "icy".

Cannon today was pretty fun, skiing from the peak was pretty frustrating though. It was hard to get a rythmn because you really couldn't see going down the upcoming surface conditions. But, before you knew it, all of the fog was gone!

This was the busiest I've seen Cannon in a long time!
