Resort or Ski Area: Cannon

Conditions: Packed Powder, Hardpack, Occasional ice patch.
Temps is low 20s, upper teens maybe. Light snow for most of day (accumulation to an inch at best on summit)

Trip Report: Got to the mountain a little after opening at 8:30 to light snow falling. Did a lap down Easy Link and down the Ravines back to the base to get my legs back under me (its been too long since i've been on the mountain). That run felt solid, nice and smooth on the cord with a little more than a dusting on it. So next I headed to the summit and hit Upper Cannon and followed that to Bypass and down Avalanche. That run was in good shape, nice and smooth since it was only around 9 or so, but got to the bottom of the zoomer lift and realized there was a lot of racing goin on over on garys, so there were lines on that lift, which being picky, I didnt want to be a part of, so I went to the base and headed for the summit again. Although I didnt ski them, Zoomer and Banshee both had huge whales and were not groomed at all. Looked like fun though.

Back up at the summit I did a couple runs down Upper Ravine (takes the cake for the best run of the day next to upper cannon) before I got cold and headed in for a break. Came back out from warming up and went back to the Cannonball chair and did one lap down U Ravine again, and was just about to load onto the Cannonball when it stopped and they couldnt figure out why. So they told us it would be closed for a while and to go enjoy the rest of the mountain (thank god we didnt get stuck on that lift). So we went to the base and hit up the Peabody quad and did 1 run off of that. When we got to the base there, that lift had stopped as well. Apparently down in the town of Franconia, there was a short blackout or something electrical related happened, so the whole mountain was shut down for what ended up to be maybe 45 minutes or so right around 11:30 or so.

Some lifts got back up and running, (I only know peabody and brookside were open, and that cannonball and zoomer were closed for the rest of the day). Did a few more laps off of the peabody quad before leaving, but all in all, it was a great day, probably the best conditions I have skied this year. The sides of all the trails were real nice with a good mix of fresh snow and manmade/scraped off snow. It was a good day, and she be back there Friday this week (tram will be open and possibility of a little snow!!!)
