Conditions: spring snow, loose but not too wet, especially on the upper mountian
Took advantage of the Thursday toofer although we got there a bit late so I really did not start skiing until about 11 AM. Overall the conditions were great. Soft, all over the mountain - I don't think that the slopes froze overnight. Even the ocassional patches of "blue stuff" was quite edgeble. I was hoping to catch some dry corn, but this wasn't the day for it.
The spring mush did require a good deal of muscle power to push through but it was all good. I waxed ahead of time so I did not run into the "stop and go" grabbiness that wet snow usually causes.
Great cover on most of the slopes but there were quite a few rocks and dirt peaking through so one had to be careful. But I get the feeling it will go fast.
The mountain was well groomed. There were moguls to be found but only under the Zoomer chair and on the side trail to the left (skier's left) of the lift. But I just could not find any good lines. They moguls were just weirdly cut. Very deep throughs and the spacing was just not right. There were some lines to be found furthed down the slope but just a couple really good for zipper lining. Or maybe my legs were just too tired to hit it right - see my other notes ("Not impressed by fat skis").
Heading back to Cannon tomorrow or Sunday before it all melts away.
