I've heard great things about the Bethel Village Motel too, popular with the AT thru-hikers taking a rest day and replenishing at the Foodliner in the summer.

Speaking of SR lodging, I heard from a friend that the resort hotels are bookable at hotels.com for much cheaper than they advertise on the resort webpage. Having a condo I don't really pay attention to resort lodging but she got weekend rooms at the snow cap inn for $150/night all taxes/fees included. We used to stay there before buying our condo when we didn't want to schlep from Gorham. The rooms are 100% decent and it's super convenient, though anyone sensitive to the smell of weed might prefer the Jordan.

the snow cap was over $100 cheaper total for 2 nights this weekend than the resort lodging site, on expedia.

i chose the rostay over the snow cap bc it was a little cheaper and i figured might as well be a touch closer to food and stuff

Okay, what's the place on the left by Rostay? Stayed there 20 times. And walk across the street and you're at the bar. Off season it's as good as it gets. Assuming you can get across the road.
Which place ?
We lived in Bethel for 22 years.
I think it's gone. Last time I stayed there was in 2019. There is a motel with Bunk houses (attached). In the back was a brook. 5 min walk to Rostay. Maybe the street view has changed?

I had the camp with the Weird Paint across from the OLD cemetery on Sunday River Rd. Where the bull branch and Sunday River meet. If you could get a picture I would appreciate it. Haven't been there since 2022. It was Orange, lipstick red on the side. Right on the waterfalls.

Going away from Frenchmans Hole, go over the twin bridges and on the top of the up slope on the right. I put a ton of money into the place to keep it standing. Abbey Morris was my landlord. The huge farm by Frenchmans.

I miss the place. Neighbors from Maine Cool. Mass....

Bethel Village Motel. When you call to reserve a room they don’t even ask for a credit card. The rate is $80/night whether you get a room with one or two beds. Your room is cleaned/bed made every day unlike most motels today. Ruthie runs a nice motel.

Another bargain, considering this is the Cannon thread an affordable place in Franconia is the Kinsman Lodge. Stayed there in early Feb. think I paid less than $80 for a single, breakfast included.
