Trail Hiked: Kinsman Ridge Trail
Total Distance: 4.0 mi
Difficulty: Moderate
Conditions: Wet
Special Required Equipment: None
Trip Report:
I had planned on heading up to the Kinsmans but I got a late start so I decided to do Cannon instead. Started up the Kinsman Ridge Trail at 10:45. The trail starts climbing right away and the lower part of the trail is very eroded. As the trail climbs it gets ledgy and there was water running making some sections slippery. I got to the summit about 12:30 and it was socked in. It started to clear as I ate my lunch and watched some folks getting ready to take off with a hang glider. I started down at 1:00 and when I got to the outlook it had totally cleared and there were multiple gliders gliding around the notch. The trail was much more dificult descending than ascending and I slipped a few times. Got back ot the car just after 2:00 and headed home.
