Has anyone else noticed that FM Radio is broadcasting Cheap Trick tunes...I haven't heard any of the Boy's tunes in years and in the last 2-3 weeks I've heard at least one song a day...maybe an upcoming tour?

Good god- are they even still alive? I saw them many years ago, on the "Don't Be Cruel" tour, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In a rodeo arena, no less, with Joan Jett opening. Craziness, let me tell you.

There was a commercial a while back w/ one of their songs...a guy dancing in the shower I think? Ugh! I can't remember the song now & it's going to drive me nuts.

Anyway, they are getting into that "we sell our tunes to commercials now" mode so perhaps that's why you hear them more.

I'm not a fan but I loved their 1988 hit, "The Flame." It fit perfectly into the pop landscape of the day and the lyrics were meaningful to me, as a 17 year old.

Cheap Trick was fabulous in its day. They are obviously past-prime now, but still tour. I missed my only real chance to see them back about 1981, and regret I didn't go with my younger brother!

"Surrender" and "Dream Police" are classics.....

...I believe MTV ruined the mystique of rock'n roll bands....before MTV you either bought albums or went to the concerts...

They played Spring Fling when I was in college, I think it was my senior year. Out on the lawn, drinkin' beers and listening to music. Sigh. Good times.

Don Kirshners Rock Concert...wow, I forgot about those shows...Saturday midnights...he was on long before Live Saturday Night...it's how I first saw the Grateful Dead...

Do you suppose someone will figure out how to turn Don Kirshners Rock Concert show highlights into a PBS fund-raising program?
