Or that someone could invent something lift-related for improved child safety. I dont even have kids and this is scary to think about.

There's a few new lifts out there in the last couple of seasons where the ski school puts basically a vest with magnets on the kids and then there's the other attractive 1/2 of the magnet in the seat back, the magnet gets charged as the lift leaves the base terminal and looses the charge as it enters the summit terminal - not fool proof, but a step in the right direction for kid lift safety

glad you posted that,I was wondering about the magnet thing and how it worked at the top

Another one. According to MSN a University of Utah student fell from the High Meadows Chair at Canyons (have to get out the map and look that one up). Pronounced dead on arrival. Not a good year on the lifts.

My son has been skiing on the lifts since he was 3 and I was always concerned about him falling off. He would like to lean over and look at the ground below. I would always tell him to sit back. OMG if he ever fell off! Poor thing!:sad::cry:
