I was wandering around the internet the other day and found on the MRG Website that they are getting ready to release a new book on the mountain's history. A Mountain Love Affair--The Story of Mad River Glen is due out soon and is for sale through the mountain. 224 pages of color and BW photos. $49.99. I'd be interested to hear some reviews and see the book...

In my mind, northern New England
I'm sure that it will be an interesting read but at $50, it's going to cost some good coin. I'll wait for the price to drop. Just got an old copy of Stein Eriksen's "Come Ski With Me" for $5.

Yes, I will look for it in a local store first and then probably get it on Amazon or Ebay. $50 is a bit much, but am looking forward to hearing what folks have to say.

Hmmm...just got done perusing those pages and there are some grammatical and factual errors. The funniest one I saw was the discrepency between the captions on pages 6 and 8. On page 6, the caption reads,

"Assisted by lift supervisor Ken Irish, former MRG President/General Manager Ken Quackenbush rides the last of the original single chairs on April 7, 2007, fifty-five years after he first came to Mad River Glen in 1952.

And on Page 8:

On April 20, 2008, a crowd of well wishers withstood snow and mist at Stark’s Nest to greet Ken Quackenbush as he arrived up top riding the last of the original Single chairs.

Now if that is not a mistake, that was one hell of a long chairlift ride. A world record!
