Conditions exceeded expectations. They were blowing the fan guns on half of trails which left silky smooth snow. The other half were frozen granular, but carved up to loose granular. Fortunately the snow pack seemed to have time to drain before refreezing and the groomers did a great job.
Toward the end of the day they were switching off some guns and on with others. I think they'll resurface the other half of the trails tomorrow and move on to the remaining unopened terrain on Thursday. They already had the portable fan guns lined up on the unopened trail.
The ungroomed terrain melted out, but the snow stayed in the woods. The glades should be back in action with the next moderate snow.
Best part is that the snowmaking pond filled up half way. They have water again! The guns were even blowing white snow instead of the yellow-brown crap from the previous week. Word from the staff is that the water problems are recurring and have gotten worse since the terrain expansion now requires even more water. They can't even pump the pond dry as they must leave some for the fire department.
