I was thinking about going to Crotched this Sunday but there's a "Main Event" competition that will be going on the same day.

Has anyone been to one of these, and if so, do they attract a lot of crowds? Crotched usually has a low crowd factor, but I'd rather wait until another day if this competition will attract too many people...

We skied the afternoon and it was very busy - for Crotched standards. We had to park in a 2nd parking lot (far right) which has never happened before. I bumped into the ticket mgr and mentioned the parking lot to him and he said the last couple of weekends it has been that way. The lift lines were max 3-5 minutes and almost no wait except at the lift on the far left & right - where the competition was being held (left lift). Pluto's Plunge which is the main "expert" slope had no one on it and actually was bumped up under the chair lift top to bottom. The galaxy/nc-1701 run out trail had way to many people on it. Nice to see them prospering but the flip side is the gem is being discovered! What's amazing is there is still alot of open water on a couple of the trails.
