Whose got the best conditions? Thinking about taking the kids up. Sunapee, Gunstock, Pats? Other options? Or not worth the cash this week?

Somewhere like Sunape that has good snowmaking and grooming. Jay has plenty of ice I am sure and about 1/3 of their trails open so hardly worth the drive. Stowe has good snowmaking and a good amount of groomers open, but is that really why one skis Stowe? Skiing (at an area known for grooming) will be OK with frozen granular/man made surfaces that will be scraped and icy by lunchtime.

That's just the way it is.

Both Sunapee and Pats have good snowmaking and grooming IMO. Gunstock does pretty well too. All good options.

If the kiddos are younger and you will be with them most or all of the day I'd go to Pats just to save some drive time. Think every place will have holiday crowds.

Sunapee closed the Sun bowl today, because they fired up a man made blizzard for the whole pod. So the email said.

Crotched has been great this season and is blowing like crazy right now. Awesome cheap family spot. I'm sure they will have shorter lift lines as well. Sunapee has some great terrain open as well, just don't know about lines. I've been there and waited 10-15 minutes.

Pats had plenty of coverage on Saturday, and we weren't hit too badly by the ugly weather on Sunday. I live one town over from Pats, and we still have some of our natural snowpack. I would expect run of the mill NH frozen granular at any of these places. Pats also claims 25 of 26 runs open.

Of the three, I would avoid Sunapee, the place may be crowded but I have never been there on xmas break.

keep this on the hush & hush, I've been to Crotched on feb break and the place is still good. Longest I waited in line may have been a minute and lodge is big enuf & no bag policy allows for places to sit. The later was a big consideration esp since my daughter is not hard core and like taking breaks for food :?

I would opt for Crotched. Their efforts so far this season have made me an instant homer. The Rocket is a real game changer for that mountain. You can get a ton of skiing in in a short amount of time. I haven't a clue what the lift lines will be like during the Holiday week. Guess I'll find out Thursday.

It's too bad about this past weeks rain. The trees at Crotched were outrageously good last week.

Pats had the guns going on Hurricane. That was bumped up over the weekend, so I'm not sure if they will groom it or not. Maybe some nice whales on Thursday?

I'm contemplating similar options for tomorrow - Crotch, Ragged, Sunapee, maybe Loon? Anyone have any thoughts? I was thinking Loon might recover best and close to the highway is good for my Christmas schedule.

FYI: For tomorrow(Christmas day) Crotched is open from 1-5pm, and Pat's is closed. Loon, Ragged, and Sunapee are open all day.
Black, Cannon, Dartmouth, Granite, Gunstock , King Pine, & McIntyre are also closed.
