You think even on the holiday lines will be long at Loon? I'm talking Christmas Day. The following day I wouldn't consider Loon for one second.

I did Ragged last year Christmas Day, was awesome, but not sure how good their recovery will be.

I've never skied the south peak stuff at
Loon, but fwiw it is opening for the season tomorrow. Maybe it will ski a bit better than some other stuff that's been open and packed down by lots of grooming. You will probably have the mountain to yourself on Christmas no matter where you go. Most of us family-types will be flocking to the hills starting on Thursday! ;)

The South Peak runs at Loon are my favorites, nice and long, with very few intersections.

Just want to jump in and say that the south peak's my favorite part of Loon! Long lift that's fast (and not a crowded gondola), long uninterrupted runs (not like the "Grand Junction" area) and nice steep cruisers--Jobber, twitcher or Ripsaw that are somewhat curvy--not like the straight--shot runs of the North Peak. Try not turning and see how fast you can go!!

Keep it on the down-low though---let everyone else wait for the Kanc. quad! :spin:

Waterville did a respectable job recovering today.....they are blowing the HSQ lifeline which should open by Thursday I'd think......WV is so vanilla though....such a narrow mtn for its height and almost no advanced terrain

South Peak opening sounds great, gonna pull a game time decision on either Loon or Sunapee.

I'm also considering Loon tomorrow. After Waterville and Bretton Woods the last 2 days, Loon might be my best option. Burke and Cannon do not have enough open for me to consider them. I think the morning might be good as the crowd will still be sleeping in or driving up.
