Trip Report:

We had a much better day at DV than we did the previous day at PCMR, although not having to get new skis after my rentals were stolen at PCMR may have had something to do with it...

It had snowed overnight and it continued to snow through the early afternoon so there was plenty of powder to be had. It was tough to us get used to, but lots of fun. Since it was a first trip for us we stuck to the main trails which were pretty much tracked out...but the leftover crud and powder bumps were pretty soft and somewhat manageable. I'm usually one to avoid east coast bumps, but the bumps here are so much easier to ski that they were quite enjoyable. DV also has a nice variety of terrain, at least from my perspective, and I didn't find getting around to be too difficult.

It was pretty crowded (heard that they sold out by 11 AM), and going down the greens meant human slalom gates at times, but there was a decent amount of space on the blues. I did try one black to get to what looked like some nice powder, and it was plenty steep for me, especially with the deep tracked out powder.

Day off today (my legs need some recovery time) and then for a second day at PCMR (which I hope goes better than the first). Still debating on whether to try the Canyons out on Wednesday or go to DV for a second day. Want to ski at Park City since the kids will be doing their own thing in town and we don't want to be an hour away .

Forgot to mention...this weekend was the first time that I went into powder that was about knee-deep. Sure put a grin on my face...
