We're gonna need more than that! Pictures and video would be preferred.

5:30 am... i'm already up when the alarm sounds. I jump out of bed, throw on some shorts and a T, slide on the flops and run down the apartment stairs toward the coffee pot... upon firing it up i realize its darker than it has been... or not... who knows... its 5:30am. I call the dog, open the door to let her drop a steamer on the neighbors stoop and.... its raining. WTF!

I don't care... I'm going, with or without my buddies. I want to go fast.

chug coffee

i have to cruise down the street to get all the gear out of my barn....this set up sucks...
before i can however, i got to run up stairs, grab a boob and get a little sugar. hmm morning breath...

Chug coffee

i get all the bike stuff packed into the subaru and get more coffee at the convienience store... which, of course, has a line. I'm trying to make it to Torrington's commuter lot by the burger gnar @ 7:15 and its closing in on 6:30. Still got time.

blasting through the turns on the back roads towards 44, i realize something... Chug Coffee

I'll spare you the play by play from here haha

me, bart and Mark from www.purgatorybikes.com cruise down there in my car. Good conversation between metal songs we like.

We score big time upon our arrival. front row parking! get suited up, chug more coffee (beer chaser!) and bolt to the ticket windown - - - which has moved for any of you that have been there back accross the street to the little village.... and has a huge frickin line. it's cloudy, a bit cold, and we're inside talking about what hte first run is going to be like ( a lot like an opening day for skiing) and we figure out something... we all have cash... not only cash, but exact change! Boo Ya! scalp tickets off some manager walking around and we're off.

first run... cloudy, breezy, slick and moderatly boring... we did that new run Greenhorn where some of the new stunts were built... kind of beat actaully. Not a fan.

Second Run - 3:45pm.... Sunny, dry, awesome!

We all got"new to me" drops. Effin love that! I got all the new ski jump style ramps which are about as big as i wanted to go that day, Bart got the big drop on Tempest and Mark lined up some re-designed tables and did some one footers. Sick!

all in all, couldnt have asked for a better first day of down hillin for the year. The line had about 75 people in it at any given time, but the gondi handles it well and cruised right along. Not a bad wait... 5 -10 minutes tops.

as always, we tail gated with good laughs and enjoyed the day.

no injuries and the only mechanical failure was my chain bent after one of the drops, and i busted some spokes off Phantom Drop...(landing like a meat head.... my own fault) No big deal.

highly recommended to anyone who likes stunts and rocks. wicked good day. can't wait to get the bike back up to speed and buy new brakes (oh yea... many stories of how my crappy hayes nine brakes almost killed me...different thread some other time)
