KILLINGTON, Vt. (September 26, 2011) Vermont's Killington Resort is open for the fall foliage season as well as Route 4 East and West through Killington, less than a month after tropical storm Irene's impact on the Northeast. Leaf peepers are invited to a spectacular show of nature's fireworks, as the leaves will peak the first week of October. Take a quick look at foliage images from the last few days around Killington Resort.

Scenic gondola rides to Killington Peak will feature spectacular views of five states and Canada, plus hiking, golf, special events and lodging deals will be available.

Killington Brewfest, October 1
Killington Resort will kick off the foliage season with the 16th Annual Killington Brewfest featuring more than twenty breweries from the Northeast and pouring over 70 crafts beers from 1:00-6:00 p.m. in Snowshed Lodge.

Brewfest tickets are $25 and include a 3 oz. commemorative tasting glass, 12 beer sampling tickets along with live music performances by the Pete Kilpatrick Band and Joey Leone. Additional beer sampling tickets will be available for $1 each. The Snowshed Food Court will be dishing out an array of seasonal fare from the grill as well as fresh pizza from our stone oven.

Brewmaster Dinner and Brewfest Kickoff Party, September 30
The Brewmaster Dinner returns on September 30 featuring a three-course dining experience with local culinary creations paired with Vermont brews from Long Trail Brewing Co., Harpoon Brewery, Magic Hat Brewing and Otter Creek Brewing followed by the Brewfest Kickoff Party at the Wobbly Barn.

Hay Festival, daily through October 10
Killington Resort partnered with the Town of Killington to host the annual Hay Festival , a celebration of the Vermont harvest that features 40 giant, all-natural animal sculptures - made entirely of hay throughout the Killington Region.

DocDogs National Championships, October 7-9
DockDogs returns to Killington Resort with the National Championships. More than 300 canine competitors will compete in big air, speed retrieve and extreme vertical. This pet-friendly event will also include a pet vendor village.

Killington Resort Activities
The K-1 Express Gondola will spin daily October 1-10 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. offering scenic gondola rides and hiking access for guests to view foliage in the heart of the Green Mountains. In addition, the Killington Golf Course is open daily through October 10.

Furthermore, Killington Resort is offering fall foliage lodging deals , including a free night of lodging and free round-trip rides on the K-1 Express Gondola from October 2-10, 2011.

Killington Resort will be one of the first resorts in the East to open for the 2011-12 season.
