Hey All,

One of the cool things about ski season is we all burn alot of extra calories skiing so we can eat more. What are your favorite foods for during and after skiing.

During: Sugar Free Red Bull, Gatorade, Water, Chili, Pizza, Pierogies, Nachos, Trail Mix, Chocolate, crackers, Clam Chowder, Chili Dogs, pocket meat, chips

After: Beer, steak, whiskey Cokes, Nachos, Wild Game, Burgers..especially from the Shed in Stowe, Cabot cheese, crackers, Salmon, Popcorn, Potato Skins, Ceasar Salad, Mexican Food..

So what are your favorites??? This thread is making me hungry..

 Classic!

Before: Dunkin Donut blueberry bagel toasted with butter, coffee, OJ, fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, BK french toast sticks.
During: Powerbars, Gatorade, hopefully a decent burger for lunch.
After: Steak dinners, burgers, wings, Vermont IPAs, vodka-cranberry, merlot, Gatorade...

Moving to Skiing...

To hit the appropriate format:
Before: "The Basketcase" at The Breakfast Club- Two eggs, over easy, corned beef hash, home fries, and French toast. And about 40 cups of goooooooood coffee.
During: Sometimes a sandwich in the lodge around 2.
After: Depends. If we're in northern NH, a sandwich and a beer at Beiderman's.

before: a muffin
during: anything under 5 dollars at the lounge that can fill me up, and lots of beer on the lifts if im gonna be doing the terrain park (I can do that cuz bear mountain in socal puts trash barrels under the detachable quads so you can throw away your trash while moving!)
after: Doesn't matter, a fulfilling meal, and if it is the last day of a trip, usually a steak

During: Gatorade, maybe some candy or chips.
After: Either a steak or fish is best, but after skiing....as long as it's some type of food, it's good. Sirloin Saloon in Rutland when I'm at K, Red's off 21B on the Thruway if I've been at Hunter or are coming back from K.

That looks rough, but Christiansen's does rule it. They used to have a black and bleu burger; cajun-spiced burger with crumbled bleu cheese on top. That's gone so I just order a cheeseburger with bleu cheese. Yum! Great place.

In my mind, northern New England
Poutine at Jay Peak!

I make it a point to try the local brew especially those that have a connection to the ski are I'm at: Jay Peak Tram Ale, Single Chair Ale at MRG or a Tuckerman Pale Ale at Wildcat.

My usual ski breakfast depends on where I'm driving for skiing. If I'm on my way to Maine, it's McD's on Route 1: Sausage McMuffin with Egg, Hash Browns and coffee (the breakfast of champions!). If I'm on my way to Vermont, it's a stop at the Farmer's Diner in Queechee for either the corned beef hash with poached eggs or the Farmer's Breakfast. Great waitstaff too! I'm gonna miss driving to Vermont!

I usually jam a bagel down my throut and wash it down with a giant coffee which i finish in the lift line...
Then I MAY stop for lunch.. Get a burger or something.. Maybe some chili...
But generally I push on through lunch... And quit when the light goes flat.. I hate to stop.. Don't like the way I feel after lunch...
then apres ride I get a huge pile of sushi(If I'm at Hunter Mtn) and saki or maybe pizza washed down with a Guiness

Before Bagel with cream cheese or a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, and lots of water
During Burger and fries, whichever soup or chili that looks good, or a grilled chicken sandwich, and lots of water.
After Lots more water, Jack and Cokes or beer, if I didn't have that burger at lunch I have it, maybe a steak, a big plate of pasta if I'm lucky enough to be skiing consecutive days, and always some of andyzee's blueberries.
