Thought this might make for some interesting discussion as well as provide some insight into the abilities and preferences of the members here.

For me, right now I find the challenge of moguls the most fun. I'm still learning, but I'm always drawn to them. I also enjoy skiing the sides of steeper terrain where snow is a bit softer and I can concentrate on tight controlled turns along the tree edge. Every now and then I like to scream down the steeps or groomers. I also like to find hits on the mountain, but my body is no longer forgiving enough for the terrain park. I've never been into the glades scene much, but probably will get into it more now that I have a helmet.

What's your favorite terrain?

Good poll...I was thinking of putting up the same poll (honest), but it was a good thing you did it, since my list would not have been as long.

For me, just about everything can be plenty challenging, but since I'm not used to too much speed yet I've been drawn to the bumps lately. I haven't had a chance to go down a "manufactured mogul field" yet, so I can't comment on whether that's any more fun than making turns through the more random stuff I've been on.

When it comes right down to it, though, my favorite type of terrain is whatever I'm skiing on at the moment. :D

That is a tough question. Groomers are fun for cruising, especially first and last runs when you're warming up and/or tired. I like the moguls when I can find a field that's doable. Too rough and I spend too much time frustrated, and that's no fun. No experience skiing back country, but it's somethign I aspire to. Trees I have very limited experience in, but I enjoyed the two runs I've done. Overall, Steeps wins, I guess- a variety of different things you can do, depending on conditions and mood, so there are a lot of options involved.

Really, I think Hammer hit the nail on the head (Thank you- I'll be here all week. Try the veal, and tip your waitress!).

OK, I voted Steeps, but in retrospect should have voted "other" because I like it all

I voted for gromers because right now thats what I'm best at and have the most fun without getting frustrated. I am aspiring to become good at skiing bumps though :) I'd really like to get into some tree and back country skiing as well...

Trees, bumps, backcountry, crud, groomers just about anything except the park/pipe which is only good for getting some of the scrapeapes off of the good stuff.

I voted groomers. I really like steep groomed trails. I'm a fan of hero snow. I like to go straight, but make tight turns. Good poll. I say out of the woods and moguls. Raced alot when I was younger and just like to carve.

tough question to answer as i like "natural snow conditions" in which trails have no snow making and no grooming. such trails could be bumps, powder, trees, steeps, or all of the above. choose the backcountry option as i believe that option is the best description for the snow quality and trail that i like best, natural.

My story would be one often told. I used to love the Moguls, but my knees can't take them any more. That certainly changes your approach to skiing. So I was torn between voting for the Novice Terrain (as I love ski-skating so much) and Glades, Trees (especially since I don't wear a helmut). I went for the former.

Ungroomed Intermediate trails (with fresh Pow).

Ya, the choice was limited. What about ice and snow covered parking lots?
