Just out of curiosity, how many people picked trails that were not designated black diamonds?

In any case, here's my short list:

Pats Peak: Cyclone
Sunapee: Blast-Off and Lynx
Crotched: Satellite Summit and Equinox
Gunstock: Trigger

I didn't pick any non-diamonds, but I didn't necessarily pick the hardest trail, and didn't always pick double diamonds (at the resorts that have them).

i did not. but i see this as more resulting from the designs of modern trails and how trails are rated. trails that are narrow or have natural features are often rated black diamond even if they don't have much pitch. very rare to find a blue square that isn't wide and actually has interesting terrain features, at least consistantly throughout the run. east bowl at burke would be a GREAT candidate for best blue square at burke. lower doug's drop is blue square i think? i picked doug's drop top to bottom for burke, so i actually did pick a blue square (partially) on a technicality ;) i liked dougie's better than east bowl on most days, the groomer gets to east bowl more often than i can appreciate.

yea, that's another half and half... i think lower is a black?

Oh, yeah. I forgot about the bottom. Didn't even think of the bottom. Personally I hate the section that is black, but love the blue section.

yea, the whole trail is great. i especially love lower catenary as that is the exact location i watched someone rip into the bumps that inspired me to learn bumps, so it has historical attachments. i enjoy those steeper bumps those in general regardless of the history.

If I were to pick an all round fun favorite that is not a diamond I would have to say Sleeper or Jester @Sugarbush Lincoln Peak

For non-black trails, Upper Antelope at MRG is nice--and they used to even call Lower Antelope a blue, but not any more. Poma Line at Jay is fun. I like Kokomo at Jay as well, though it has very little pitch even for a blue. The trees and uncrowdedness (when I've been on it) make it peaceful. Birch Run at SB South can also be a fun trail.

As a side note...each of these trails I picked are designated as all or partial diamond trails, although by "big" mountain standards they would likely be blues...

A Few Come to mind when thinking of trails and not glades:

White Knuckle @ Black Mountain
Upper Wildcat (when ungroomed which isn't often), or Catenary @ Wildcat
GrandStand @ Attitash
Wandering Skis @ Bear Peak
Powerlines @ Jay Peak
Short and Sweet @ Brettonwoods

That's just off the top of my head. I can't remember the names of some of the trails etc...
