Not to be a hater, but technically GP didn't post a ski report (nothing in the Trip Reports sub-forum). It was actually skiersleft just posting a link to LHz' Twitter feed and then GP chimed in with a link to the FIS blog. IMHO this equates to someone linking to a report on TGR and claiming the prize.
Technicallities :p :argue:

Yeah, hellooooo

Here is my report: K today, first turns of the season and they sucked. And it was hilarious.

Not kidding about the turns sucking. It was a GREAT day for a hike though. Definitely a foot up there. I wouldn't recommend ducking ropes on Saturday though. I can deal with thin coverage. Can't deal with that type of snow, though. Bottom line is don't feel bad if you wanted to get out today and couldn't. Hopefully the natural snow will be better on Sunday after the next round.

I just heard the NWS is predicting 8-12 for the higher elevations of the northern NYC burbs. If they do in fact get that, I am, for sure, going to take my BC XC set up and haul ass at Dawn to Fahnstalk park to make some turns. I'll be a 2 days after today's reports, but for an hour north of NYC, I am going to be stoked!!

"Base building". That's what most people say when they've had a day like yours. How did you resist?

I wish, instead I'm heading South to South Carolina for 3 days. Might get in a round of Golf. a couple days ago I wouldn't have guessed we'd be popping open this soon!

I think you need to rethink this. gp should get the sweatshirt. He is the winner.

Talk about passionate. He defines passion. :fangun:

Haha. I got a sunburn, believe it or not. It was ~68 degrees. I actually did a bit of swimming although the water was F-in freezing. Alcohol helped make it more bearable

This month is insane. This weekend: have a friend's 40th b-day party on Saturday night, and am going to the Pats on Sunday. Weekend after that I'm gonna be in Maine, but on the coast in Ogunquit with the in-laws. Weekend after that might be in the cards, that's ~the 19th anyway which is big openings across New England.

Prior to that I gotta find my way to a local ski shop and pick up some new pants, new jacket, poles, and hopefuly some new boots too.
