Acorns (some big ones too) have started falling in this area. Back in 09-10 before that epic winter we had tons down (and started falling about this time too), 10-11 had almost none and a terrible winter. Last year we had some but not like 09-10. I take this as a good sign.

Down here on Long Island I have seen numerous flocks of geese and ducks flying south. This is early. A sign from Mother Nature?

Last week i found a two year old pair of used ski boots on fleabay for a friend who desperately needed newer boots and won the obo option of the auction!

My dogwood is sporting fall colors, some leaves are bright red! Half of the pin oak's leaves are brown or turning brown, some are falling too. Although thats pretty typical for those two trees.

I'm thinking about cutting down the pin oak to stop the inevitable progression of vines from the insane neighbor's unkept trees from creeping onto it and the red wood tree next to it. Last thing i want is a curtain of vines! Tree removal is a Spring/Fall activity for me, easier clean up without the leaves.
