The guy I went out snowshoing with at work yestersday reported that today there were signs of actual mini slides on the the steeper slopes. Keep in mind this is IN THE TREES in St. Johnsbury! . He also reported being able to hear the snow pack groaning as it settled.
Be careful on back country lines out there. Any continuous chutes (mostly contained in Smugglers Notch) could present a real hazard. I'm sure most of the stuff within ski resort boundaries got cut up enough yesterday that it is not an issue.

Just skied the cliff band behind the bike shop here in Stowe. Lots of whumping, and tore out a coupla slabs. 3-4 foot crowns, 15 feet wide. Fortunately they just spill out into the Irie Parking lot (still unplowed). Skied a tight gully today that is ussually an ice flow, it was stable enough, but I wan't making many turns. Steep terrain and aggressive style were rewarded today with long visits to the white room. Lazy turns led to forward cartwheels, which are still fun when you can stand up out of them and keep rolling.
