As part of a large ad in the Caledonian-Record announcing staff changes, etc., Ginn has formally announced that "Bridgemor" will the name of the East Burke development. No other indication as to what will actually be tagged Bridgemor (real estate, golf course, ski area?) nor has anyone yet commented on where that name came from. I personally can't think of any local connection with that name for what that's worth.......................

Bridgemor is a reference to a medieval English village.Tim Mcguire mentioned it during the Ginn presentation to the Burke Selectboard on June 4, 2006. Ginn reserved the tradename on June 8, 2006 and the reservation expires on Oct 8, 2006.:

So it is no longer Burke Mountain????

I highly doubt they would rename the mountain "Bridgemor". That would be a really bad name for a ski area :dunce: . The development of the base area makes more sense to have a name like Bridgmor although that is a definite departure from naming conventions that have been used in the past (e.g. names realting to nature or have local meaning).

Wow...that is a corny name...almost as bad as Bernd Schaefer's "Bavarian Castle" concept in the 1990's.

But if it works, then it works.
