from her fiance.

Not her birthday, not for Christmas, she claims just for no reason.

But we all know there's a reason. Either he screwed up or he isn't getting laid enough.

Suppose I should tell her that? Perhaps I won't in the interest of keeping my job. :dunce:

Maybe the guy finally did get laid and was super grateful, poor shmuck.
I always did consider the "flowers to the office" crap as an inapropriate exhibitionism, especially if it's for "no reason". The woman's private life ought to be kept private. Otherwise it's just an inviatation into her private life. It's just in bad taste.

...and maybe they really are for NO reason...what's with you guys, can't you do something nice without expecting something for it (either before or after).

That's just the point, man. By sending flowers to the office the guy exposed his girlfriend to possibly unwanted attention.

Yeah, yeah, of course, the flowers to the office may elevate the woman, put her publically on the pedestal but there is another side to that coin: gossip, quip remarks, possibly unwanted attention.

Sending flowers to her home would have been just simply nice, no other side effects.

I usually send flowers for birthdays and special occasions, or when I go away for a week of so. Nothing wrong with doing nice stuff. IMO
If I do flowers for no reason I bring them home. I don't send them to her work on those times.

Unwanted attention?

LOL, unwanted attention!!!! I don't know a single woman who wouldn't be elated by receiving flowers at the office. We all like to feel special, especially for no reason.

Some of you guys need to take Women 101.

Not necessarily. I give flowers for no reason. (I don't send them because we don't have the money for such luxuries, and she doesn't work.) It builds my stock of atta-boy points. This is a variable quantity that can increase or decrease at any time by any amount she deems necessary for any reason. Only the woman can determine if atta-boys can be redeemed toward an act of idiocy, or if a higher penalty will be applied.

In simple terms, a healthy stock of atta-boys equates to a happier marriage/relationship. Should the relationship fail, public events for which atta-boys are awarded (ie delivered flowers) will be remembered by whitnesses who are female and single, thus increasing your rebound stock quotient.

Take "getting laid" out of your equation. No one ever gets enough, IMHO. It's like X approaching infinity. You can get close, but it's not truly attainable. Never mind the fact that relaionships can't survive on a physical attraction alone, but I'll leave Dr. Phil to that one.

My wife would get so pissed that she had to carry flowers home on the train.
And now, she wouldn't just leave them at work.

A fiance giving flowers to his SO is not all that surprising IMO...giving flowers to someone you've been married to for 10+ years is another thing altogether. :)

I don't know, it must have been the roses,
The roses or the ribbons in her long brown hair.
I don't know, maybe it was the roses,
All I know I could not leave her there.
