Global Over 50 Ski Club Enters Second Ski Season with New Deals for Skiers 50 and Over
SOUTH HADLEY, MA — The Global Over 50 Ski Club (GO50), an online discount ski club for skiers/snowboarders 50 and up, enters the 2004/2005 ski season with expanded offerings for members including special rates at over 40 resorts across North America.
Among the new deals:
Expansion into California and Wyoming: Kirkwood Mountain Resort, California is offering $20.00 and $10.00 off lift tickets mid-week and weekends, respectively. Grand Targhee, Wyoming is offering 4-for-3 nights ski/stay packages.
GO50 and Sunday River in Maine are teaming up for a special ski week for skiers over 50, January 23-28, 2005. A variety of ski/stay packages are available, and include apres ski socials, organized group skiing, snowmaking tours, dinner specials, free clinics and a sock hop.
More opportunities in British Columbia include $10.00-a-day off lift tickets at Kicking Horse Resort; and powder skiing deals at Northern Escape Heli-skiing and Chatter Creek Mountain Lodges Snowcat Skiing.
A complete listing of all GO50 deals is located at go50.org.
"GO50's focus is on the 'Me' generation of baby boomers just entering their fifties who prefer to take ski trips on their own or with their families," said Bill Chaffee, 50, GO50's co-founder. "The response has been great from resorts who share our interest in helping this demographic continue to enjoy snow sports."
There are over 1.5 million skiers and snowboarders, age 50 and up, in North America, according to the 2002 Sports Participation Study conducted by the National Sporting Goods Association.
