I used to get elbow pad tans like that when I played lacrosse.
Sunglasses while skiing are ruining my prospects for a solid goggle tan this year.

Always fun trying to explain my lacrosse tans.:-o
Would wear soccer socks up to the knees, then my gloves ended about 2 inches short of arm pads, with a hole on inside of elbow, and the top of arm pads ended about 4 inches short of shoulder pads.
I was weird looking to say the least.....
