Got at least a foot on the mountain. Thursday was fresh powder on everytrail. Glades werre awesome but some got tracked out by Friday afternoon. First time to gore and i had a blast. Burnt ridge and north quad didnt open til friday so there was a whole new side of powder waiting for us on friday. Great time. On to okemo for sat and sun.

Same deal for me at Gore. Got there late Wednesday night and it was snowing and didn't stop until Thursday evening. They got about a foot total. Fresh powder everywhere on Thursday. It was a real work out getting down the mountain but a lot of fun!

Friday was MUCH more crowded. I'm glad I already had my ticket because the lines for tickets were LONG. The parking lot was full to the access road. I got there early and was in the first row. :) At first only the Gondola was open and the line snaked back quite a ways but more lifts were opened and people spread out so it wasn't bad at all later. Considering all the people the mountain wasn't packed at all. Very impressive.

On Friday a lot of the trails were groomed with nice powder and there was plenty of ungroomed, bumps, glades as well. North Side and Burnt Ridge were open and most of the trails were completely powder/ungroomed for those who wanted the same conditions as Thursday. Quite a few blacks on Topridge were the same way. I didn't get up top to Straightbrook or High Peaks though because it was VERY foggy up high. Whiteout conditions for all day up top. That was the downside. There were times when you literally couldn't see 10 feet in front of you.

So I got no higher than where the Gondola dropped us off. I like groomers and there were incredible packed powder on the blues in the Northwoods area. Sure wish I could've gotten on more blacks but it was a great day so no complaints. Definitely a wonderful two days at Gore! Wish I could have "More Gore" but time to head home. :sadwalk:

Saturday doesn't look like a complete wash out. Conditions might improve for Sunday with some snow called for on Saturday night and it gets colder for Sunday and Monday.

I'm heading there tomorrow. Haven't been in a long time, where are the good spots?

The top (straight Brook and High Peaks) looked great when I went up there late Thursday and I was looking forward to heading up there again on Friday but unfortunately I couldn't SEE most of anything yesterday (Friday) because of the dense fog we had ALL day. So I didn't get to run many blacks. I did get on Uncas and Topridge, which I didn't SEE much of..Ever ski by "feel?" :dontknow:

So most of my time was in the Northwoods area simply because it was open, easy to get to and I could see where I was going but most of it was blues. I never got over to Burnt Ridge. I will be going out to check things out some other time. Probably next season at this point unless we get a fluke springtime storm.
