I skied Greek Sunday, basically two trails open, Elysian Fields/ Stoic off of 1A, Trojan, accessed via chair 3 to chair 4. You can ski back to chair 1A from Trojan. Also Alpha (the bunny slope), and magic carpet. 100% man made groomed, skied well, some icy spots on Trojan. We need snow badly, or at least sustained cold temps. I felt like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, all that was missing was" I got you babe" on continuous play on an mp3 player.

Here's my report for Dec 16th, not much has changed, a little more "snow".

hrstrat57, I don't know that I'd pay $64 for what Greek is offering at the present time. I think $64 is high for Greek with 100% open, that's another topic. I do like Elk, I live right between Elk and Greek. I'd love to alternate season passes between the two. Elk is close to $800 for an early buy season pass, Greek is getting $325. I try to make it to Elk a couple times a year. They have two "Winterfest" days, $25, I think. I do notice Elk has nicer cars in their parking lot. They draw from Philly, NJ, amongst other places. I've been there and people can't believe I traveled south to ski, it's only 37 miles from home.

I believe "Harvey" is a member here, he's a regular Gore skier. It is a nice blog.

Yep, those were my exact thoughts....a little disappointed I still haven't ski'd this year (will be first yr ever can remember not skiing in Dec) but $64 for 2 blues from the top just isn't in the budget. My son teaches at Greek and is a bit disappointed I still haven't seen his little hill.

I hear real good things about Elk, was actually planning on 1 day at each......

Thanks again!

Your son can't get you a pass? Should be able to get a discount at least, I get 20% off with my season pass. Wow, I just found out they added 1/2 off Hunter midweek for GP season pass holders, that's something new. We get $35 non holiday tickets at Whiteface too. When were you planning on skiing?

...hey next Friday the 6th is Elk's winterfest/demo's day, $25 tix available thru select ski shops. I'm going:)
I feel a cold coming on. I'd like to demo some Volkl RTM 84's, if they are there. I almost bought a pair earlier this year. My shop can't get 181's, all they have are 176's. I can get them online, but I'd like to support my local shop. Lot of $ too, hate to drop that much without testing them out. They have gotten rave reviews. I'm on Volkls now, Tigersharks, great hardpack ski. Maybe I'll like something else.

You'll like Elk, hope it snows by then.

When i picked up my tix i was told to expect demo's from Volkl, Salomon, Rossignol, Atomic and Blizzard, nothing about specific models.

Keeping my fingers crossed about this crazy up and down weather pattern we're in, would be nice to have more (all), black runs open.
