BROWNSVILLE, Vermont — The rainbow may be winter snow white but there's still gold at the end of that rainbow during Ascutney Mountain Resort's annual St. Patty's Day Shamrock Hunt.
On March 18, 2006, ski school instructors and ski patrollers at Ascutney will hide shamrocks around the resort, buried in snow on trails, behind lift towers, in the Rip Zone Terrain Park, in Cheddar's Discovery Zone and the Mouse House Lodge. Of course all shamrocks are green and many may be turned in for great prizes like hot chocolate, lift tickets, skis, snowboards, and more.
But the coveted prize is a free Junior Season Pass for the 2006-2007 season. The lucky leprechaun that finds the golden shamrock wins the pass.
The St. Patty's Day weekend is filled with live entertainment, apres ski parties, special activities and promotions, as well as spring skiing and riding.
The shamrock hunt begins at 8:30 a.m. when lifts open for the day. Packages for the St. Patrick's Day Weekend start at $89 per person per night and include slopeside lodging and lift tickets. For reservations or information, call 800.243.0011 or visit the resort's new web site at ascutney.com.
