I only remember Outer Limits as a bump run..I guess it would make a great high speed groomer as well which would make it more dangerous due to mad steezy speed....I think Rumble at Sugarbush can be a hard run...Some of the shots at Stowe like Tomba to the skiers right of the Waterfall are pretty steep for a several turns with some mandatory air..I'd estimate pitches in excess of 35 degrees and a wicked compression back onto Perry Merrill..

i dont think i have ever seen it refered to as a compression. lol. maybe a flat ass landing that no one with any real kowledge of the mountain would ever do but not a compression. you could call it a spine tingler.

one in the same. it always cracks me up hearing people at the mountain and around town talking about how they are going to do the waterfall or how they are going to hit up the backcountry off the quad. mind you these are the guys that rollin around town at 8pm in their rear entries.

I've never seen anybody in their ski boots at 8pm in the town of Stowe..even Pie-casso has a sign saying no ski boots allowed..I usually drive the 420 miles to Stowe in my rear entrys..lol..

was a slight exaggeration but i did sit at the bar at the sunset next to a guy in a fur jacket and fur boots. he was funny as hell.

I like the bar at the Sunset..good nachos and a little more local flavor than other haunts..Sunset, Piecasso and The Shed are all great along with a visit to Mr. Pitwicks for Bangers, Mash, and Bitter Beer.

The hardest runs in the east aren't on the trail-map...I really want to ski some powerline cuts in New England..like Robbins mountain near Cochrans in Vermont and Mount Greylock in Massatwoshitz..

actually i respectfully disagree w/ sir geoff ... lower bunny & great northern on opening weekend are easily triple black ...

for in-bound runs i'd have to echo greg's choices at mrg & da bush. and though it probably doesn't belong there, i'd put goat on the list. centerpiece at k is pretty gnarly (at least when i've skied it).

for b/c obviously mt washington runs like airplane, pipeline, dodges.

Anyway, based on what I've skied (all on map), I say these are my top five:

1 - Paradise at MRG
2 - Rumble
3 - Castlerock Liftline
4 - Fall Line at MRG
5 - Redline at Magic

Good list. Otherwise known as the top 5 trails that I most flailed around on last season.
