So my kids, which turned into kid after a moderate injury at Bromley on Saturday, had a race at The Hermitage today. Is it extreme? Nope! Is it hardcore? Nope! Are they bankrupt? Nope!!

If you like carving arcs into great snow surfaces, and not having to worry about running into anyone as you use up the full width of the trail, and no liftlines, and a high end club feel, it's GREAT!!

I rode their bubble 13 times today, with a couple of rides on their witches triple. Great machine made packed powder with an inch or 2 of fluff on top courtesy of some snow today. A bunch of soft whales in the witches, which apparently per a member I overheard today just reopened today after being closed since basically New Year's, skied great.

The clubhouse (their lodge) is Deer Valley/Snowbasin worthy. Enough said!

It's not for everyone. Nor is it everyone's cup of tea by any means. But if you like uncrowded slopes and feeling like your pampered, you're going to be happy there!!

I'm surprised the dress code allowed for those ratty old Kinco gloves...seems like a "collared shirts only" kind of place. "Only gloves of Hestra grade and above shall be visible upon our guests..."

Honestly, proportionally from what I witnessed yesterday, you see more overt displays of big ticket brand ski gear at Stratton. Was there a Bogner sighting on someone who I know for certain is a Hermitage member? Yup

However, aside from the probably million plus of SUV's backed up to the edge of the snow near the base of their lodge and 6 pack base terminal in the valet parking area, there really isn't that different than what you typically see on the slopes/around the base area of any major ski area. Just way less people!!

As for my Kinko's, I certainly wasn't the only one wearing them there yesterday. Kinco's plus a coat or 2 of Sno-seal are my go to handwear probably 50% of my days on the hill. REALLY cold days, give me my mittens. Wet days, I've got some truly waterproof gloves I use. Most days though, myself, and a bunch of other folks in the know out on the hill, swear by Kinco's, and you certainly can't beat the price
