A ski and board event to fight cancer
Hope on the Slopes provides avid skiers and snowboarders an opportunity to make their day of skiing or riding more meaningful by raising money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
The goal of Hope on the Slopes is to not only have fun, but also raise funds that will help the American Cancer Society continue to fund cutting-edge research (44 of our grantees have gone on to win the Nobel Prize), educate health professionals and the public about a disease that will claim the lives of more than half a million Americans this year, and provide services, such as free rides to treatment, wigs, and lodging, to cancer patients. In addition, donations support our toll-free number - 1.800.227.2345 - that people can call 24/7, 365 days a year to speak to an information specialist about cancer and anything related to it.
Each Hope on the Slopes event has a Web site where people can register, make donations and get event information. Every Hope on the Slopes participant who signs up online gets a Web page they can customize with their own words and photos, as well as an online participant center where they can set a goal, send and track emails to their supporters, and manage all of their donations.
