How crowded are resorts on Thanksgiving?

I'm considering getting some turns in, but I want to know if it's like skiing during Christmas break. I'm sure it varies per resort, but how do the big areas like K fare so I can use that as a benchmark?

I think with enough places open this wknd it won't be too busy. This is a good year for volume it seems for thanksgiving wknd.
This is still "early season" for a lot of people.....many don't get going until after Xmas and then shut it down end of February

My wife and I ski if the mountain is open. It's a generally quiet day. It'll get a little busier into the weekend, but nothing like Christmas. It's still pre-season for most people.

At Mt Snow over the years on average I'd say it would be crowded trails but no lift lines to speak of. If they can get a couple extra runs open for Sat it will make a huge difference.

I would think most people are just hanging out at home stuffing their faces. Even skiers :)

Oh I was thinking the question meant the whole weekend. Yeah, Thanksgiving itself is pretty empty.

well talked my wife into doing "Thanksgiving" today (Wednesday) seeing it is rain and we will ski tomorrow. I have never skied on T-day before.

This is a damn good idea. Too bad for us that we need to head up to the in-laws tomorrow!

Where are you going and how are conditions looking? I was thinking about going somewhere but I'd have thought the rain ruined just about everything...

Just got an email from Wildcat saying they've decided to close tomorrow because of conditions likely to follow today's weather.

I expect it to be slow! We went to Killington a few years back on Turkey Day and it was awesome due to limited crowds. This year however conditions may be tough!

We were initially going to bail on Thanksgiving festivities with the rest of my family because it looked like this Noreaster was going to provide snow and lots of it. However, with warmer air coming from the south along with rai#. Our plans have changed.

I suspect that is the case for many! Plus - this is a similar setup to this past weekend - Friday it rai#ed and Saturday the trails were not in the best shape. Tonight into tomorrow there will be a refreeze of the soaken snow again with temps barely making it out of the 20's at the base.

We are going to give the resorts a couple of days to recover!

I am at a condo at Killington. It stopped raining before noon. Temps are dropping. The future radar is showing it starting to snow around 5pm today and lasting until 7am or so tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed as i smell the turkey cooking, listening to Alice's Restaurant and drinking my Harpoon IPA.
