Are you a goose-stomper??? Anyway in Jackson Hole I skied a few bump runs on Thunder and those bumps are way way way easier to ski than here in the east because they are so widely spaced..I can carve mandatory GS turns.."Shout out to highwaygnar"..on long fat skis..here in the east you better be on your A game..bumps are way tighter and goosestomping and a little pizza wedge are sometimes the only way to avoid carnage..

Speed control, goose-stomping, credit card air..

Come to this:

We'll give you a crash course...

need some dedicated work!

Ans: Can't ski the steeply seeded stuff....and most of time don't try, fall-line natural smaller bumps are enough for me right now.
Think early part of next season will be the right time for a Bump Camp...K-Mart or the Bush...

Safety meeting on me if you come. I think you can crash at Pat's place. He seems to offer up his couch to the likes of of Highway Gnar and the like.

Assuming they offer it, should hit up the Mogul Logic camp at the Bush this spring. Early season may be best for remembering stuff, but from what I hear the Mogul Logic camp is top notch.

In any case, make sure you get instruction from specialists.

My friend Bumpfreaq has done the Mogul Logic camp at MJ a couple times. He just finished that camp last Sunday then toured us around MJ on Monday. The bumps at MJ Rock!!!

I think training out of the bumps is very under rated as a way to learn the bumps. Granted, there are things in the bumps you can only learn by doing them. But I took to moguls rather quickly because I already had core fundamentals in place.

My learning started by watching others and then copying their movements. That gets you the basics but you still get bucked around until you in grain the feedback. Try a few turns, analyze the feedback, change something to make it feel better, try a few more turns, repeat. If you are just bashing bumps for the sake of bashing bumps thinking it will eventually make you better.... forget about it. Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes for improvement, though. And frequent perfect practice will get you there.

I voted for watched and learned from other bumpers. But that's still flawed since in my case a qualifier is needed, which is .

"I voted watched and learned from other bumpers who can ski a direct line"

My biggest breakthrough was going to Sunapee 4-5 season ago and seeing some bumpers ski that line in a slow and controlled manner. Heck, I saw a mom and a teenage daughter combo making that line in a very slow pace. Afterwords, I realized that the misconception about moguls skiing are just that....misconceptions. There are techniques to ski that line efficiently and in a controlled manner.

The problem is further compounded by the fact that the misconceptions are spread by the people who are the unofficial ambassadors to skiing in general, yep the ski instructors. But that's a flame thread we can have during the late summer season when we're all uptight about not making our turns.

On my way to/from where? Pittsburgh? At least you could incorporate a Sundown appearance into a trip to VT.

Possibly..I drive through NY to get to VT because of all the Connecticut traffic..and Greg if you even come to Allentown..I'd recommend the Hampton inn..:p..I'm nervous having a bearded clit on my couch
