Had we made it to VT, we would have been one of the guests at Dr. Jeff's. Instead we remained in CT so the older two kids could attend parties at friends' houses and we took the youngest to the Mohegan Sun buffet for dinner. Played some slots, enjoyed the entertainment in the shopping district and accompanied our son to the kids' game room. Home before 11, but up till 1:30 waiting on older two to return home.

Went to my mother in laws to spend it with her. Fell asleep by 10. Woke up to fireworks at 12:05. (I think gunshots too.)

Party at friends house with 6 couples and their kids. To much food. Played bartender and got all the ladies loosened up with some stiff drinks. Plenty of games adult and kids. Chinesse Food. Watched the ball drop then headed home. In bed by 1:00. Slept in and headed up North for the weekend.

Made it to the condo in good time, got there before 10, had leftover bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and trimmings and an assortment of beers, some akvavit, proseco, champagne, watched ball drop, had a safety meeting, then the 10 of us hooked up Guitar Hero and played for awhile, fell asleep around 2. Needless to say, did not make first chair.

6 hour drive to Mt Snow Thursday morning in the snow (really bad I-287 in NJ). Dinner at Revello's (sp?) in West Dover (good meal). To bed at 11. Used to be proud to make it to midnight now I'm proud to make it to bed before midnight.

Skied until 3:30 PM, fireworks at the mountain, late dinner at home with the family, struggled in front of the fire to stay awake until midnight, back on the mountain to ski by 10 AM after a big breakfast. Life is good so far in 2010 !

Woke up on the couch when the neighbors started shooting off fireworks, looked at the clock, and thought "Dammit, what the hell are they doing lighting fireworks after midnight?" Then realized it was New Year's, nudged my wife, said "Happy New Year, honey" and fell back asleep.
