Woke up expecting a normal work day - saw that the forecast had changed to no r@&$ until after 4 PM, and considering the mess coming rest of week, decided to give today a shot... So glad I made that move - day was awesome... huge smiles everywhere - blue skies from around 10:30 - 1:00, temps in 40s, just luscious cream cheese snow everywhere, as is typical of the first warm day after a long freeze, and before it gets too slushy. Nice soft pillow bumps on upper 42, upper and lower xover, racers, and milky way. Great crusing surface pretty much everywhere, but especially on Claire's and lower K (not a typo - as others reported earlier it was fantastic there). Lodge was hopping at 2 when I left, with the firefighters enjoying themselves - huge parties there tonight I imagine...

Also had a great day there yesterday, like Tahoe in April. Hit 55 degrees at the base! Really impressed with all the work they've done on the West side, hadn't been over there since the new quad, and it looks like they've really opened up the glades. Must ski nice with two feet of snow.

What up Shredder, conditions sound similar to Elk last Sunday, glad you got the goods. Some of the bumps at Elk were like Styrofoam, even I could ski them with ease.

This IS the week where we think back to how Hunter once was in it glory days of partying...
