After hitting Belleayre Sunday (free tickets) we headed over to Hunter on Monday and where amazed at the conditions. The whole place was covered and the guns where going, especialy on Racers. Hell gate was in great shape, no ice and getting bumped up early. Ike was great as well, picking up snow from Racers guns. Racers had HUGE moguls and rollers and no ice. Some of the bumps where prolly 10 feet high and growing. The guns where going still as we where leaving. Lower K-27 looked good but I passed, having too much fun on Racers. Took a spin down Wayout which was fast and grippy. Clairs was HUGE, monster moguls and rollers. After a run down it I felt that I would get wasted trying to do laps on it but prolly should have done a few more. The Belt was a sheet of glass as well as Huegas. They just get too much wind and no sun. Upper crossover was great and i spent a few laps on it as well as Minys and East side drive. Hunter has done an amazing job and you would never guess they hadn't gotten much snow. The run of the day was hell gate as it never got skied off and bumped up nice. Compared to Belleayre which got skied off pretty quick Hunter has to have the best conditions in the whole area.

Thinking of heading up Sunday for the mogul camp. I need all the help I can get. heading to Jackson (canceled Tahoe) the 9th and I think conditions will be like the last time I was there....longest mogul runs I have ever see.

From my experiences in Jackson they don't have many moguls at all. I don't think they have the skier-density required to make moguls based on the amount of snow they get. Maybe in a not-as-good snow year? Would this year qualify? When did you go and have lots of moguls?

I went 3 years ago and they hadn't gotten any snow in 3 weeks. Moguls where everywhere. Some runs where over a half mile long. We even took an all day class, just the 3 of us and focused on mogul technique. best $85.00 I ever spent. I hear conditions are the same now but snow is expected all week...I'm praying.
